$100k reward to catch those spiking strawberries with needles in Australia

The reward comes as it is confirmed six brands of strawberries are believed to have been contaminated with needles and pins.

A $100,000 (£55,000) reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people spiking strawberries in Australia.

The move by Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk came as it was confirmed that six brands may have been contaminated with needles and pins.

Consumers have been warned to slice fruit before eating and to bring any affected food to police so it can be examined.

Some supermarkets have also taken strawberries off the shelves.

At least one person has eaten a contaminated strawberry but his condition is not known.
